| Myridian Fields is a
roleplaying mud based in a medieval, fantasy setting.
Roleplay is essentially making decisions, speaking and acting in line
with what
the character you have created would do if your character was actually
in that situation. Your character is not who you are in real life, but an
imaginatively created person who lives their life in this fantasy world, interacting
with the characters of other players.
Role playing has several different facets to it which will affect how
you roleplay your character: appearance, personality, your history, goals
and alignment.
Appearance:
After creating a character, you will be able to write a long and short
description of your character's physical appearance. This will help others to have
an understanding of your character's race and appearance.
Personality:
Each character is unique and has unique personality traits which will
determine how they interact with others. Myridian Fields uses 'RPsheets' to help
you decide
what traits your character will have.
History:
Your character's life up to this point in time will adversely affect how
you roleplay your character. If your character grew up as a servant in the
royal
courts, or if you are next in line to become the king, this history will
play an important part in the way you roleplay and interact with others.
Goals:
You may have a few goals in mind when you create your character, or you
may add goals as you go along. Perhaps you aspire to be the most powerful
wizard in the lands, or have more humble ambitions such as learning the ways of
the
cleric so that you can return to your village to care for the sick.
Alignment:
When you create your character you will be able to choose an
alignment. This determines whether you will act honourably in all situations, or if you
will fluctuate between fighting for the causes of good and evil.
